What POD is supposed to prove
Proof of delivery shows that freight reached the consignee (or that delivery failed for a recorded reason). Without it, disputes drag on, TO_PAY collections stall, and TBB invoices get challenged.
Why digital beats paper and WhatsApp
- Tied to the LR — open the booking, see the POD
- Closes OFD — delivery staff finish the run with a clear delivered / undelivered outcome
- Audit trail — photo or signature is harder to lose than a carbon copy
- Billing support — accounts can defend invoices with the same record ops used
Where it fits in the workflow
POD sits at the end of the booking lifecycle: after outward, unload, and OFD. See the product view on OFD & digital POD software, and how bookings start in LR software.
