Lorry Receipt (LR)
A lorry receipt (LR), also called a bilty, is the operational document for a road consignment — capturing consignor, consignee, stations, packages, freight type and charges.
Bilty
Bilty is the common Hindi / trade term for a lorry receipt — the consignment note transporters issue when booking freight.
PAID freight
PAID means freight is collected at booking time — typically from the consignor — rather than at delivery or on a later party invoice.
TO_PAY freight
TO_PAY (to-pay) means freight is collected at delivery — usually from the consignee — when the goods are handed over.
TBB (To Be Billed)
TBB means freight is billed later to a billing party (often on credit) rather than collected fully at booking or delivery.
POD (Proof of Delivery)
Proof of delivery (POD) is evidence — photo, signature or document — that goods were delivered (or an undelivered reason was recorded).
OFD (Out for Delivery)
Out for delivery (OFD) is the stage after unload when consignments are assigned for last-mile delivery runs.
Consignor vs Consignee
The consignor is the party sending goods; the consignee is the party receiving them. Billing may be to either party or a separate billed-to account (common with TBB).
E-Way Bill
An e-way bill is the electronic permit required for movement of goods above threshold values under Indian GST rules — with validity tied to distance and movement.
